MAKING WINE
IN ECUADOR

Viticulture on the Equator is at once challenging and rewarding

OUR VINEYARDS
Straddling the Equator, our unique location begats unique wines

Our Vineyards are located about 10 km south of the Equator at approximately 2400 m above sea level in the rolling foot hills of the Andean mountains in the Yaruqui Valley, just outside Quito.

The climate at 2400 m above sea level is one of perpetual spring. Although we do not have very hot or very cold temperatures, we do have a very broad variation of temperature between daytime highs and nighttime lows. However, our greatest challenge has been experimenting with approximately 30 viniferous grape varieties to understand which varieties would be appropriate for Ecuadorian wines. We have successfully done this for the past 15 years.
